Gourmet tip
For an even scarier version, replace the eyes with small red or green candies to create spiders with monstrous eyes—perfect for a Halloween snack.
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with the sugars until creamy. Add the egg, then mix again. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the previous mixture. Finish by folding in the dark chocolate chips to distribute the chocolate generously throughout the batter.
- Cover the dough and refrigerate it for 30 minutes. This step helps ensure the cookies turn out richer and nice and soft.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Take portions of the dough and shape them into 12 balls of equal size. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them slightly apart.
- Bake for 9 to 10 minutes. The cookies should still be soft in the center when you take them out of the oven. Let them cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- Melt the white chocolate, then pour it into a piping bag fitted with a small tip. Pipe a Halloween spider onto each cookie: a round body, a smaller head, and eight thin legs. Add two mini chocolate chips or sugar pearls for the eyes.
